Dr. Terry Coalter
Dr. Terry Coalter, associate professor of marketing and management at Northwest, has been named a Missouri Higher Education Teacher of the Year.
Gov. Matt Blunt presented the award to Coalter and 14 other college and university educators from across the state during ceremonies held Wednesday, April 9, in Jefferson City.
“Education is the most important investment we can make in our own and in our children’s future,” Blunt said. “… I commend all the professors nominated for Teacher of the Year for their dedication to Missouri students and learning.”
Coalter, who joined the Northwest faculty in 2000, holds a bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., and a master’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma City University. He earned a doctorate at the University of Texas-Arlington and a juris doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
In fall 2007, he received the Dean’s Faculty Award for outstanding teaching from Northwest’s Melvin and Valorie Booth College of Business and Professional Studies.
Sponsored by the Missouri Council on Public Higher Education, the state Higher Education Teacher of the Year Awards are presented annually to instructors and professors at each of Missouri’s 13 four-year public universities.
