Missouri Academy students to Jump Rope for Heart

Students from the Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics and Computing will participate in a Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in Centennial Garden, which is located between the North Complex and South Complex residence halls on the Northwest campus.

Free-will donations made during the event will benefit the American Heart Association. Donations may also be made online at www.americanheart.org.

The event will include a free barbecue provided by the Residence Hall Association and entertainment by KZLX, Northwest’s student radio station (106.7 FM).

Jump Rope For Heart is a national educational fundraising program administered by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

At schools nationwide, students jump rope in order to raise funds in support of research and treatment in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Students ask friends and family for donations and receive thank-you gifts based on the amount of money they raise.

Co-sponsors for the Northwest event include the Missouri Academy, KZLX, the Residence Hall Association, the Student Activities Council and Horace Mann Laboratory School.
