Language banquet to celebrate Spanish, French and ASL

The Department of Communications, Theatre and Languages will host its annual Feast of Languages at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom.

The banquet celebrates the study and use of Spanish, French and American Sign Language (ASL) and the cultures those languages represent.

This year’s feast will feature authentic Spanish, French and American cuisine and live entertainment by the KC Salsa Band. The evening will also include Latin dance lessons and a Spanish version of “Snow White” presented by students from Maryville High School.

Tickets cost $9 (general admission), $7 (students and seniors) and $5 (children ages 2-5). Children under two years old will be admitted free.

Purchase tickets with cash, check or a valid Bearcat Card ID at the Student Services Center on the ground floor of the Administration Building. To make reservations by telephone, call 660.562.1279 (ext. 1279 on campus).

Support for the Feast of Languages is provided by a Culture of Quality grant, Northwest’s Department of Communications, Theatre, and Languages and the Hispanic American Leadership Organization. For more information, call Michelle Allen at 660.562.1279 or e-mail mallen@nwmissouri.edu.
