Greek golf tournament to benefit hospice foundation

The Lambda Omega Chapter of the Order of Omega, an honor society for Northwest students who are members of Greek-letter organizations, will host the Greek Classic at Mozingo golf tournament Saturday, April 5, at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course east of Maryville.

All proceeds from the four-person scramble will benefit the SSM Hospice and Home Care Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides hospice and home-care services to terminally ill patients and families not otherwise able to afford it.

SSM Home Care of Northwest Missouri and SSM Hospice of Northwest Missouri, located in Maryville, are both affiliates of the foundation, which is headquartered in St. Louis. Last year’s tournament, also sponsored by the University’s Greek-letter community, raised more than $4,000 for the charity.

Cost of entering the tournament, which has a 1 p.m. shotgun start, is $65 for non-students and $50 for students with a valid Bearcat ID. Hole sponsorships are available for $200. Entry fees cover lunch, gift bags and hole and flight prizes.

Those wishing to sponsor or sign up a team should call the Office of Campus Activities at 660.562.1226 (ext. 1226 on campus). To register as a player or sponsor a hole, mail name, address, phone number and a check made payable to the Order of Omega to:

Order of Omega is a national Greek honor society whose members must meet high standards of academic achievement, community service and leadership.

The Lambda Omega Chapter at Northwest works to support philanthropic events while providing members of the University’s fraternities and sororities with organizational training and community building skills. It also seeks to promote the values of commitment and service shared by all members of Northwest’s Greek-letter community.
