Photographer Nick Vedros will display his work in a Northwest Visiting Artists Series exhibition Monday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 29 in the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building gallery.

Vedros will show slides and talk about his photographs during a lecture and reception scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in DeLuce 244.

President of Vedros & Associates, Vedros specializes in combining everyday elements ways that create thought-provoking images.

“I do everything I can to take a photograph to a point where I feel it’s readable,” he said, “where it communicates a subtle sense of enhanced realism.”

Vedros studied photography at the University of Missouri-Columbia before opening his own studio in Kansas City in 1977

Remaining spring trimester exhibitions in the Department of Art’s annual Visiting Artists Series include:

  • Ann Willoughby, illustration and graphic design, March 3-21; lecture/reception 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, DeLuce 244.

  • Gail Simpson, sculpture, March 31-April 25; lecture/reception 7 p.m. Monday, March 31, DeLuce 244.
