
Dr. Jerry Wilmes
Dr. Jerry Wilmes, M.D., who serves as the lead administrator for health and wellness services at Northwest Missouri State University, will be the featured speaker during an “Evening of Conversation” forum scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Wesley Center, located at 549 West 4th Street in Maryville.
Wilmes’ presentation, “Friends Helping Friends,” will focus on ways in which college students can help friends and acquaintances facing emotional health issues.

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, Wilmes became health services director at Northwest in 1990. In the years since, he has also served as a wellness consultant, adjunct faculty member and Northwest’s vice president for student affairs.
He is a member of numerous professional organizations and boards, including the American College Health Association, American College Personnel Association, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Central College Health Association Executive Board and the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health.
