Deadline nears for Tourin’ Bearcats Caribbean cruise

A week-long cruise to the Caribbean is the next getaway being offered by the Tourin’ Bearcats, the travel program for Northwest Missouri State University alumni and friends.

The trip, which is open to the public, is June 7-14, 2008. Cost is $1,549 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes airfare and all transfers. Upgrades are available. Reservations with a $300 deposit are due Jan. 11, and final payment is due by March 21.

Travelers will depart from Miami, Fla., and board the Royal Caribbean’s new 3,600-passenger Liberty of the Seas ship that features onboard surfing, cantilevered whirlpools, an H2O Zone waterpark, a rock-climbing wall, an ice skating rink and a miniature golf course. Ports during the seven-night eastern Caribbean cruise include San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Labadee, Haiti.

“This cruise will certainly be a great getaway,” said Steve Sutton, Northwest’s director of alumni relations. “Not only will we be aboard a brand new ship with some really unique features, but there will be a wide range of possible land and shore excursions that travelers of all ages will be able to enjoy.”

Those wishing to participate in the Northwest Alumni Association-sponsored trip are encouraged to reserve their space as soon as possible. Past Tourin’ Bearcat cruises have sold out quickly.
