Northwest Missouri State University President Dean L. Hubbard announced today that the University has signed a memorandum of understanding with a company that will become the second tenant in the Center of Excellence. For competitive reasons, the company has requested that its identity and specific business field be kept confidential at this time.
This company is expected to begin operations in the Center by the end of 2008, Hubbard said.
The addition of this company to the local community will result in the creation of approximately 25 new jobs at an average salary of between $30,000 and $35,000 per year, plus some additional higher paying management positions, Hubbard said. The University worked closely with the Nodaway County Economic Development Office in securing this agreement.
“We are delighted to have a second company committed to becoming a part of our Center of Excellence to join our first tenant, Carbolytic Materials Company,” Hubbard added. “Both these companies will bring many opportunities to the campus for research that is of critical importance to our curriculum, faculty and students now and in the future.”
An MOU between the University and Carbolytic Materials Company, LLC, St. Louis, was signed two weeks ago.
