Recycled Percussion will bring its "Man vs. Machine" power
percussion show to Northwest's Performing Arts Center at
8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.
Recycled Percussion, a "junk rock" group known for its unique style of power drumming, will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in Northwest's Performing Arts Center.
The free concert, part of the group's "Man vs. Machine" tour, is being sponsored by the Student Activities Council.
Using traditional drum kits as well as "found" instruments like plastic buckets, metal tanks, chainsaws and jackhammers, the band boasts "the world's fastest extreme drummer," Justin Spencer.
The show, which fans have described as "controlled chaos," fuses hip-hop, rock and funk with the talents of three drummers and a DJ.
A popular college act, Recycled Percussion has appeared on NBC’s "Today Show" and at National Basketball Association play-off games.
Highlights at past concerts have included rap/rock covers of AC/DC, Metallica and other high-energy bands in addition to the group's own compositions.
