Theatre Northwest, the University's dramatic arts program, will present two short plays beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, as part of its Studio Theatre series.
Both "Peacocks" by Amy Wells and "This Property is Condemned" by Tennessee Williams will take place in the "black box" performance space on the lower level of the Performing Arts Center on the Northwest campus. Admission is $3 at the door.
Directed by Assistant Professor Patrick Immel, the light-hearted Peacocks tells the story of a widow who teaches a young couple the true meaning of love and devotion.
The Williams work, directed by Northwest student Callie Poore, chronicles a chance encounter in the Depression-era South.
Williams wrote the original one-act play in 1946. Twenty years later it became the basis of a much-expanded 1966 film directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Robert Redford and Natalie Wood.
