Spots open for second Tourin' Bearcats ski trip

Northwest alumni and friends enjoyed several days of fresh
powder during the Tourin' Bearcats' 2007 ski trip to Keystone.
This year, the group will travel to Winter Park, Colorado.

Northwest Missouri State University alumni and friends will return to the slopes of Colorado early next year for the second annual Tourin' Bearcats ski trip.

The trip takes place Jan. 2-6, 2008, and includes three days of skiing at Winter Park (www.skiwinterpark.com) and three nights' lodging at Beaver Village Condominiums (www.beavercondos.com).

Those wishing to participate in the Northwest Alumni Association-sponsored outing are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible. A $200 deposit must be submitted by Sept. 17.

The trip cost starts at $465 per person for skiers, based on six people per condo, and includes roundtrip transportation, a three-day lift ticket, lodging and an evening Bearcat social. Several package options are available for both skiers and non-skiers. Final payment is due Nov. 30, and checks, including the $200 deposit, should be made out to Cotter Travel and mailed to Northwest Missouri State University, Alumni House, 800 University Drive, Maryville, MO, 64468. A motorcoach will pick travelers up at central locations in Kansas City, St. Joseph, Maryville and Lincoln, Neb., on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 2, before heading to the Rocky Mountains. The bus will leave Colorado late afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 5, returning by mid-morning on Sunday, Jan. 6.

Steve Sutton, director of alumni relations, said 34 Northwest alumni and friends had a great time during the group's inaugural ski trip in January 2007, and he expects another fun trip in 2008. Sutton emphasized that the trip is open to the public, not just graduates of the University.
