Public hearing for Blunt's Campus Safety Task Force

Blunt's Campus Safety Task Force has scheduled two public hearings for feedback from administrators, students, faculty and staff of Missouri's colleges and universities.

The first hearing will be 1 p.m., June 7, in St. Louis at the Ann W. Olin Women's Building, Washington University. The second public hearing will be at 1 p.m., June 11, in Independence at the Public Safety Institute Room 150, Blue River Community College.

The Task Force hopes to receive detailed feedback from these public hearings about ways to make campuses across the state safer.

In addition, student, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit position papers and letters on topics germane to campus security at their school. These papers will be compiled as great examples of campus safety and given to the governor.

Those interested in speaking on behalf of their college or universities at the public hearings are asked to register to speak by calling 573.751.4819 or e-mailing dpsinfo@dps.mo.gov. For more information, contact Mr. Adam Hanna, Missouri Department of Higher Education, 573.751.1764, adam.hanna@dhe.mo.gov, or visit the Department of Higher Education website at www.dhe.mo.gov.
