Performing Organizations

Comedy Inc.

President: Matt Sweeten
Advisor(s): Shawn Wake
Mission: Our mission is to educate students in the art of improv, stand-up, and script writing. The organization strives to create a good understanding of the basic building blocks of comedy, so that the students will feel comfortable with comedy performance.
Purpose: The purpose of CI is to bring students together based on a common interest in comedy and improv, to educate and instruct people in comedy and to create an open environment for self expression through comedy.

Northwest Dance Company

President: Amanda Novotny
Advisor(s): Pat Wyatt
Mission: The mission of the Northwest Dance Company is to offer a creative outlet for students interested in performing arts at Northwest Missouri and to perform for Northwest and the surrounding community.
Purpose: The Northwest Dance Company is a student ran organization created for students, by students. There are two shows a year, one in the fall and one in the spring, with around 12 dances choreographed by 12 different members of the dance company. Dances vary in style from pom, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, clogging, tap, and partner dances.

Mock Trial

President: Ryan Williams

Mission: To compete in mock trial tournaments regionally and nationally. To learn through our competitions more about the law and performance arts.
Purpose: To further student's interest in the law and preforming arts by competing in regional and national mock trial tournaments.

 Percussive Arts Club

 Mission:

 The mission of the Percussive Arts Club (PAC) is to increase the knowledge of percussion as it relates to collegiate performers, educators, and composers.

 Purpose:

 The Percussive Arts Club (PAC) is a non-profit service organization. Its purpose is educational, promoting drums and percussion through a viable network of performers, teachers, students, enthusiasts and sustaining members.

 To assist in furthering diversity among campus social life and organizations.

 Purpose:

 To provide a platform for positive and healthy expression and entertainment.

University Players

Mission: The mission of University Players is to bring students together based on a common interest in theatre, to provide learning opportunities, and to gain experience in the field. While the organization promotes theatre in general there is a particular focus in the area of performance.
Purpose: The purpose of University Players is to bring students together based on a common interest in theatre, to provide learning opportunities, and to gain experience in the field. While the organization promotes theatre in general there is a particular focus in the area of performance.

United States Institute of Theatre Technology

President: Nicki Kearney
Advisor(s): David Oehler
 Mission:  The Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU) Chapter of United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT), hereafter known as the “Chapter”, shall implement the Purposes of USITT stated in Article II, Section 1 of the National Institute’s bylaws, and shall encourage its members to participate in the Technical Theatre field by engaging in various activities with the Chapter that will enhance their knowledge of that field.
 Purpose:  To further enhance the Chapter’s involvement with USITT and in the Technical Theatre field at NWMSU and other places within our local geographical area.
