Only those organizations that currently have 10 members and that have submitted an update form on time shall be eligible.
The application must be received by a senator, who shall date and initial it.
Applications must be received by the close of the Student Senate office at least two (2) weeks prior to the event being cosponsored.
Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Prior Student Senate co-sponsorhip does not guarantee that Student Senate will continue to cosponsor the event in the future.
The event must be conducted in Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, or Kansas. Performing groups may be considered for co-sponsorhip of an interstate recruitment tour.
All posted publicity that includes the name of the cosponsored organization(s) must also include the name of Student Senate.
Student Senate shall not fund more than an equal portion of the monetary cost.
Organizations must show an attempt to acquire funds through fundraisers, departments, etc.
Organizations shall not receive co-sponsorhip more than once per academic term.
Committee Hearing Procedure
The Executive Cabinet shall hold a hearing on the request to allow the organization to express their opinions concerning the request.
The president and at least one other member of the requesting organization shall be required to attend the Executive Cabinet meeting. If the president cannot attend, prior arrangements must be made with the Executive Vice President.
No senator shall be allowed to represent the organization's request.
Senate Hearing Procedures
Upon approval by the Executive Cabinet, the requesting organization will appear before the full Senate to represent their request.
Those senators who are members of the requesting organization must make their membership known before making a motion or debating the proposal.
The chairperson of the Organizational Affairs committee shall report on the request and include a motion to recommend cosponsorship.
The motion shall be subject to amendment according to Student Senate policies and parliamentary procedure.
