All registered student organizations must have at least one qualified sponsor. A qualified organization sponsor is defined as a full-time University employee: faculty, staff or administrator. Organizations of over 50 members are urged to obtain an additional sponsor.
Sponsors should play a key role in the development of an organization and its individual members. They should maintain contact with and assist the group regarding financial affairs, travel arrangements, programming and membership recruitment. They should attend meetings and activities of the organization. The sponsor should urge the group to pursue its purpose while promoting the academic and personal development of its membership.
