KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State women’s tennis team raced past Washburn on Saturday 5-0 to secure a spot in Sunday’s MIAA Women’s Tennis Championship match at the Plaza Tennis Center.

On Saturday the Bearcats raced out to an early 3-0 lead picking up wins at all three doubles positions. However, the Lady Blues did not go down without a fight as Erika Leston and Leslee Feldhaus fought to a 9-7 win.
Emily Hoffman and Kim Ho would be tested as well picking up an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles after Camila Quesada and Alexis Bartek earned an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
In singles play it was the top two players for the Bearcats leading the team to its 12th win of the season.
Quesada claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles after Leston notched her 10th win of the year at No 2 singles also winning 6-4, 6-1.
