Bearcats win streak continues vs Griffons
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – For the 27th consecutive match the Northwest Missouri State women’s tennis team walked away Wednesday evening with a victory over Missouri Western. The Bearcat women picked up the 9-0 win over the Griffons to extend the impressive streak.
Northwest moved back to .500 on the year at 10-10 and 5-1 in MIAA play as they will resume their suspended match with Southwest Baptist on Friday morning. Following the Bearcats match with SBU the teams will return to the court in the afternoon in Kansas City for the MIAA Centennial Tennis Championships.
The Bearcats wasted no time with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles as the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions cruised to 8-0 victories.
Alexis Bartek stayed perfect in MIAA play with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.
Northwest also got 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles from Stephanie Mannix and Emily Hoffman before finishing off Missouri Western in the shutout.
