'Cats fall to #26 Bronchos
ST JOSEPH, Mo. – After two straight wins the Northwest Missouri State women’s tennis squad was unable to pick up needed wins down the stretch falling to No. 26 Central Oklahoma 5-1 Saturday in regional tennis action.
The Bearcats fall to 8-9 on the season as they start a season ending road trip at Washburn. Action from Topeka, Kan., is slated for a 3 p.m. start.
UCO stopped the Bearcats in doubles action taking all three matches by the same 8-4 score.
Alexis Bartek picked up the lone win for the Bearcats as action was moved indoors due to early morning rain. Bartek claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 3 position for the only point.
The Bronchos closed out the match with wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles with identical 6-2, 6-2 scores. The final three positions were left unfinished with UCO leading two of the three matches.
