TULSA, Okla. – Northwest Missouri State snapped a three-game skid as they skipped past East Central 8-1 in non-conference women’s tennis action on Saturday.
The Bearcats saw their record move to 4-4 on the year to jump start a spring break road trip. Northwest continues action on Monday against regional power Midwestern State to close out the trip.
Northwest raced out to a 3-0 lead sweeping doubles play as the teams headed into singles action.
Camila Quesada fell at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, but the rest of the Bearcat squad would pick her up to give Northwest the 8-1 win.
Alexis Bartek continued her solid season at the No. 3 position winning 6-2, 6-2. Bartek has only lost once this season at the No. 3 position while Erika Leston won by an almost identical score of 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2.
