Northwest Drops Third Straight
WICHITA FALLS, Texas-Nationally-ranked Midwestern State extended Northwest's losing streak to three after beating the Bearcats 5-3 Tuesday. Northwest finishes a string of four road matches in as many days Wednesday against Abilene Christian.
Lisa Pendrak and Sureena Weir secured singles points for the Bearcats, who trailed 2-1 after doubles play. Weir teamed with Emily Hoffman for the second straight match and earned another 8-2 win at number three doubles. The Mustangs' two doubles victories came by scores of 8-3 and 8-4.
Northwest's Brittney Browning won the first set against Holly Gunderson at number six singles, but play stopped before the match could finish. Midwestern State won three straight-set singles matches to secure the win.
