Nationally-Ranked Central Oklahoma Takes Opener

ST. JOSEPH, Mo.-Central Oklahoma won an early-season regional battle as the 27th-ranked Bronchos defeated the 41st-ranked Northwest Missouri State Bearcats 7-2 Saturday at the St. Joseph Tennis Club. It was the season opener for the Bearcats.

Junior transfer Sureena Weir played a role in both Bearcat points, defeating Lacy Caldwell in straight sets in singles play and teaming with Allison Wulff to score an 8-4 win at number three doubles against Antonella Rossini and Meredith Marney. The Bronchos won two of three doubles before taking five of six singles matches.
