Season-Opening Win Streak Ends in One-Point Loss to Mustangs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The four-match win streak to start the season ended today for No. 39 Northwest Missouri State women's tennis, who dropped a one-point decision to No. 34 Midwestern State by a 5-4 score today at Rockhurst University.
Lisa Pendrak and Veronica Castilla scored the lone point for Northwest in doubles play with an 8-4 win at the No. 1 position against Mica Vinson and Tonya Blair. Pendrak added another point with a straight-set win against Vinson at No. 2 singles for her fifth straight singles win this season.
Erika Leston also stayed undefeated at No. 5 singles this season with a 6-1, 6-2 win while Lisa Pendrak improved to 4-0 at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win.
Up Next: The Bearcats make their first trip to Fort Hays State since the Tigers joined the MIAA for a 10 a.m. match March 21. The Tigers have lost their last three matches heading into Friday's meeting with Missouri Western.
