Bearcats Remain Undefeated with Win Against Southwest Baptist
MARYVILLE, Mo. - No. 39 Northwest Missouri State (3-0, 2-0 MIAA) posted its second MIAA win in as many days with a 6-2 victory against visiting Southwest Baptist (2-2, 0-2 MIAA) today at the Frank Grube Courts.
The Bearcats gave up only five games in doubles play, but Lina Gomez and Allison Wulff gave up none and posted an 8-0 shutout at No. 3 doubles against Sarah Sentlinger and Crystal Guiot. Erika Leston and Veronica Castilla both moved to 3-0 on the season in singles action with straight set wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Northwest improves to 3-0 for the fourth time in the last five years.
Up Next: The MIAA season continues at home March 18 with a 2 p.m. match with Missouri Western.
