Lipira Competes in USTA's Heartland Clinic Classic

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Senior Jordan Lipira competed in the opening rounds of the The Heartland Clinic Women's Classic today, dropping a 6-2, 6-3 match to Mia Fiocca of New Rochelle, N.Y. Lipira used a bye in the qualifying round to advance to the round of 32 in the qualifying draw.

Lipira earned a wild card berth into the USTA-sanctioned tournament which features 51 women in the qualifying pool. The Heartland Clinic Classic is considered an entry-level tournament to higher USTA events and is the first opportunity for young players to earn ranking points.

The classic is scheduled to run through Aug. 3 at the Noyes Tennis Center.
