Bearcats Win Fourth Straight in 8-1 Victory Against William Jewell

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State women's tennis won it's fourth straight match, defeating William Jewell 8-1 today in the first outdoor competition this season.

The Bearcats went up early 2-0 with an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles and 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles. William Jewell earned its only point of the match at the No. 1 slot with 9-8 (7-4) victory.

No Bearcat gave up more than two games in any set during singles action, allowing Northwest to sweep all six matches in straight sets. It' the second time this season Northwest has gone 6-0 in singles play.

Up Next: The women open the MIAA schedule at home, welcoming Fort Hays State to Maryville for the first time since 2000. First serve from Frank Grube Courts is 3 p.m.
