
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State women's tennis suffered an 8-1 defeat at the hands of No. 18 Drury today in the first match of the spring season. Jordan Lipira and Lina Gomez won the only point for the Bearcats at No. 3 doubles, defeating Lindsey Castrodale and Thu Ha Mai 8-4.
Lisa Pendrak took Eva Hankova to a tiebreaker in their second set at No. 5 singles, but Hankova took the tiebreaker by a 7-4 margin.
Up Next: The Bearcat women remain in Springfield for two more matches Saturday. Northwest competes against Ouachita Baptist at 10 a.m., followed by Central Oklahoma at 3 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
