Northwest Heads to Colorado

MARYVILLE, Mo. – This weekend the Northwest Missouri State women’s basketball team will take off for Denver to play in the Colorado Christian Basketball Tournament.

The Bearcats have gotten off to a fast start this season at 3-1 and are averaging 77.5 points per game.

Junior Meridee Scott leads all Bearcats with 57 points this season. Scott is averaging 14.3 points per game.

Tember Schechinger is making an immediate impact as a freshman averaging 10 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in 2012.

As a team, Northwest ranks second in the MIAA in free throw percentage (75%) going 43-57 this season.

Northwest will be taking on Texas Women’s University (1-1) Friday with tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Bearcats finish up the weekend taking on Colorado Christian (1-1) Saturday at 3 p.m.

Northwest will return home Dec. 5th to open up MIAA play against Lindenwood.
