Women’s basketball adds post for 2012-13
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State women’s basketball head coach Mark Kellogg announced the addition of Tara Ellerman on Thursday, an All-State forward from Atchison County High School in Kansas.
"We have added a really nice piece to the puzzle with the signing of Tara,” said Kellogg. “Tara is a talented post player that is very skilled offensively. She has some nice perimeter skills to go with her strong post play in the paint. Tara is also a great student in the classroom and will be a great fit for our program."
Ellerman averaged 12.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds as she was a three-time unanimous all-conference selection. She led her team to a fourth place finish at the Kansas State Championships and was a member of the gold medal winning team at the United World Games in 2009. Ellerman participated in the Highland Community College All-Star Game and will participate in August in the 2012 Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.
The 6’ 1” post player was also a member of the Tigers’ volleyball squad helping lead them to three Kansas state tournament appearances, including a second place finish as a junior.
