Bearcats to host Blue Tigers

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team continues MIAA play Wednesday night as they host the Lincoln University Blue Tigers. Tip from Bearcat Arena is slated for 5:30 p.m.
Northwest takes a 4-18 overall record and 2-12 conference record into the matchup against the Blue Tigers. The Bearcats have currently lost six straight, including an 88-48 road loss to 12th-ranked Pittsburg State this past Saturday.
The Bearcats currently have one player scoring in double figures. Senior guard, Abby Henry, averages 12.3 points per game while senior guard Shelly Martin comes in at just below the double-digit mark contributing 9.0 points per game.
Freshman post, Maggie Marnin, leads the team in rebounding pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game while also chipping in 7.1 points per game.
Northwest is currently pacing the MIAA in steals averaging 10.9 steals per game as a team. Henry is pacing Northwest with 45 steals on the season and ranks third in the MIAA averaging 2.4 steals per game while Martin is averaging 2.1 steals per game.
The Blue Tigers are coming off of a 67-61 loss at the hands of the Central Missouri Jennies. Lincoln is currently 12-8 overall and 6-8 in conference play.
Vivian Essuon is leading the Blue Tigers offensively averaging 15.4 points per game while Freddie Sims and Arriana Walker are also averaging double-figures for Lincoln.
Northwest leads the series with Lincoln 28-4. The Blue Tigers have not won when playing in Bearcat Arena since the 1995-96 season.
Northwest will continue MIAA play Saturday when they host the Missouri Western Griffons.
