Bearcats head to No. 14 Lady Blues
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State continues MIAA play on Wednesday as they travel to Washburn to end a three-game road stand. Tip from Lee Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.
Northwest currently sits at 4-14 overall and 2-9 in conference play where they are in a three-way tie for last place. However, all three teams are only one game behind Missouri Western at 3-8 who holds onto the eighth and final spot for March’s post-season tournament in Kansas City.
The Bearcats are looking to return to their winning ways after falling 63-50 at No. 20 Emporia State last Sunday. In the loss, Abby Henry led Northwest offensively scoring 16 points.
Annie Mathews returned to the starting lineup for the Bearcats against the Hornets and added 11 points while Candace Boeh also finished in double figures adding 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.
Henry, who battled a hand injury during the early part of the season, leads Northwest at 13.2 points per game.
The 16th-ranked Lady Blues sit at 9-1 in the MIAA and are in the midst of a seven-game winning streak.
Washburn currently has three players averaging double-figures per game and are led by Ebonie Williams who is averaging 13.8 points per game.
Northwest will return home on Saturday to host Fort Hays State in the MIAA TV Game of the Week at Bearcat Arena. Due to television coverage, game time has been slated for 1:07 p.m.
