Bearcats finish season ranked fourth
MARYVILLE, Mo.-The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team finished the season ranked fourth in the nation in the final WBCA top-25 poll. The Bearcats' season came to an end against national runner-up Michigan Tech in the Final Four down in St. Joseph last week.
Northwest set a program-record this season with 29 wins and won its first-ever regional title. The Bearcats also became the first squad in school history to win an outright MIAA regular season championship and won their third conference tournament.
National champion Clayton State received all 25 first-place votes in the final poll, while Michigan Tech finished second and national quarterfinalist Arkansas Tech finished third.
