Northwest faces Texas Woman's in Tahlequah, Okla.

MARYVILLE, Mo. -MIAA regular season and tournament champion Northwest Missouri State (25-4) is the second seed in the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament and will take on seventh-seeded Texas Woman's (22-10) in a first-round game at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Tahlequah, Okla.

It will be the third-ever meeting between the Bearcats and Pioneers and first since 1996.

It's the sixth NCAA tournament appearance for the Bearcats and first since the 2007-08 season when Northwest advanced to the round of 32. The Bearcats are 2-5 all-time in the NCAA tournament.

Northeastern State (24-4), which won the North Division of the Lone Star Conference, earned the region's top seed and will serve as host of the eight-team regional. The Riverhawks host Heartland Conference Tournament Champion Texas Permian-Basin (21-7) in the first round.

The winner of Northwest and Texas Woman's will face the winner of third-seeded Tarleton State (24-4) and sixth-seeded Southeastern Oklahoma (20-7) at 5 p.m. Saturday. The winner of Saturday's game will advance to Monday's regional final.

Fourth-seeded Washburn (22-6) and fifth-seeded Central Oklahoma (20-9) round out the regional field. The Lone Star Conference boasts five NCAA selections while the MIAA and Heartland Conference fill the other three positions.

Alumni Gathering

Bearcat fans of all ages attending the opening-round game can gather beginning at noon Friday, March 11, at Chili's Grill and Bar (1957 S. Muskogee Ave., Tahlequah, Okla.). Look for the Green and White!

Tickets

Ticket prices are $15 for reserved/chair back seating, $10 for adults and $5 for college students and kids aged 3-18. The Northeastern State ticket office will open one-and-a-half hours prior to each session.
