Northwest Signs Two for the 2010-11 Season
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State head women's basketball coach Gene Steinmeyer has announced two recruits that have signed national letters of intent to play basketball for the Bearcats.
Northwest signed Megan Hogg (Waukee, Iowa/Waukee HS) and Brooke Rinehart (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South HS) on Wednesday morning.
Hogg was a third-team All-State and first-team All-CIML selection her junior season. Hogg, who has been on two consecutive state tournament teams, averaged 11.2 points per game last season and shot 31% from three-point range.
"Megan is a great athlete with size and speed," said Head Coach Gene Steinmeyer. "She is the perfect fit for our young team and can play several roles for us next year. She's an experienced winner at Waukee and plays for a great program."
Rinehart, a 5-11 forward, averaged just under nine points and seven rebounds last season for Olathe South. Rinehart was an honorable mention All-Class 6A performer last season and was named to the Olathe, All-City team. Rinehart led her team and finished seventh in the conference in rebounding.
"Brooke not only is an excellent basketball player, but a young lady with great character," said Steinmeyer. "She is an excellent rebounder and an unselfish offensive player on a team loaded with talent."
Hogg and Rinehart are the first two recruits to sign with the Bearcats for the 2010-11 season.
