Steinmeyer Signs Jasinski to National Letter of Intent
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State head women's basketball coach Gene Steinmeyer has signed Lansing, Mich., standout Jennifer Jasinski to a National Letter of Intent. Jasinski was a three-year varsity player at Grand Ledge High School.
"Jenn is another athletic guard," said Steinmeyer. "She's smart and has high energy. Jenn had to play a major scoring role on her high school team and help establish chemistry with an AAU team loaded with Division I talent."
Jasinski led the Comets in scoring during the last two seasons and earned the team's most valuable player honor in her senior year. She was the team captain and a unanimous selection to the All-Capital Area Activities Conference Blue Division Team in 2009 after she averaged 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Jasinski shot 40 percent (25-of-62) from the three-point line and added another 1.3 steals per game last season.
On top of her athletic accomplishments, Jasinski was an all-academic student and earned the Top 10 Senior Academic Athlete Award. She was a member of the student council and National Honor Society.
Jasinski is the fourth member of Steinmeyer's 2009 recruiting class. She joins Whitney Rawdon (Eau Claire, Wis.), Ashley Thayer (Prairie Village, Kan.) and Gabby Curtis (Genado, Ariz.), who all signed NLIs earlier this year.
