Brue's Streak Remains Intact in Loss to Missouri Southern
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Meghan Brue led Northwest with 14 points for her 16th straight game with double-digit points as the Bearcats (6-11, 2-8 MIAA) dropped a 64-47 decision to Missouri Southern (13-4, 7-3 MIAA) tonight in Bearcat Arena. The win for the Lions is their fourth straight since Jan. 10.
Shelly Martin scored 12 points for her second-straight night with 10 or more points and shot two-of-four from beyond the three-point line. Rickeya McElroy made three blocked shots to increase her season total to 29 and move into fifth in program season records.
Mynosha Barnes led Missouri Southern with 19 points and made all four of her three-point attempts. India Wood finished with 15 points and six assists.
The Lions never trailed in the game and held off an 8-3 Northwest run in the first half when the Bearcats tied the game at 19 with 3:43 remaining.
Up Next: Northwest remains at home to host No. 5 Emporia State to begin the second half of the MIAA season. The Lady Hornets defeated Fort Hays State 90-51 on the road tonight.
