MARYVILLE, Mo. - It's a "Battle of the Bearcats" in the rematch of the 2008 MIAA tournament championship game when Northwest Missouri State (6-9, 2-6 MIAA) travels to Southwest Baptist (6-9, 3-5 MIAA) Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. game at Meyer Sports Center.

Northwest has won 13 of the last 14 games against Southwest Baptist, including the last seven. Head Coach Gene Steinmeyer has never lost in Meyer Sports Center since its construction for the 2004-05 season.

A win against Southwest Baptist would be the first road conference win for Northwest this season and move Steinmeyer closer to career victory No. 500. He is the seventh-winningest coach among active Division II coaches with 497.

Meghan Brue is averaging 11.9 points per game in seven career contests with Southwest Baptist and has an MIAA-leading 14-game double-digit scoring streak. She picked up her fourth double-double of the season against Central Missouri Jan. 14, her third straight at home, and will be looking for her first road double-double this season.

Saturday's game will be a matchup of the league's top three-point shooting team (Southwest Baptist - .368) and the league's top team against the three-point shot (Northwest - .281). Northwest has held seven MIAA opponents below their three-point average in nine games this season.

Rickeya McElroy moved into a tie for seventh in all-time season records with a pair of blocked shots against Central Missouri Wednesday night. With a team-leading 24 blocks, McElroy needs two more to tie Sarah Vollertsen for sixth with 26 blocks.

The injury and illness woes continue for Northwest, who is expected to use the same lineup as Wednesday night. Both point guards, Amber Vandevender and Abby Henry, are not expected to play, although Henry will dress tomorrow. Jessica Burton is not expected to play tomorrow with a knee injury while Kate Dekker continues to battle mononucleosis.

Shelly Martin will make her second straight start at point guard after recording a season-best six assists against the Jennies. Martin is fifth among MIAA freshman with 6.9 points per game.
