Bearcat Hoops Travel to Arkansas Tech
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Northwest will battle Gulf South Conference opponent Arkansas Tech on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. in Tucker Coliseum. It will be the first ever meeting between Northwest and Arkansas Tech and only the fourth ever meeting between the Bearcats and a Gulf South Conference opponent.
Arkansas Tech is currently on a six game winning streak after losing the first two games of their season. The Golden Suns have already won two overtime games beating West Alabama on a last second layup on Dec. 1. Northwest's defense will be tested as Tech has scored over 90 points in three wins this season.
Four Golden Sun players average double-digits led by Amanda Grappe's 13.8 points per game. As a team, Tech shoots 46.7 percent from the field and all but two players have hit at least one 3-pointer.
The Bearcats are coming off a 10-day layoff and a loss to South Dakota on Nov. 28, 79-56.
