Winstead-Reeves All-Classic Team Released
MARYVILLE -- The Winstead-Reeves All-Classic team was released at the end of the two-day tournament with five players and one Most Valuable Player (MVP) awarded. Andrea Dill (Northwest Missouri State) received the MVP with Kelli Nelson (Northwest Missouri State), Ashley Townsend (Avila University), Michelle Determan (Briar Cliff), Carly Hansen (Briar Cliff) and Katie Burger (Evangel University) chosen on the All-Classic Team.
Dill averaged 17 points per game and grabbed five rebounds in Northwest's pair of victories. Dill also had five assists, two blocks and shot 56 percent from the field. Nelson averaged 10 points per game and swiped six steals.
Determan and Hansen helped Briar Cliff to a 90-72 victory in the Winstead-Reeves opening game. Hansen knocked down seven 3-pointers en route to a tournament-high 27 points, while Determan chipped in 24 points.
Burger scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Classic. She led Evangel to their lone victory with 14 points and five rebounds.
Townsend poured in 37 points and 15 rebounds on 16-of-31 shooting, but Avila was the only team to leave without a victory.
