Bearcats Crack Top 10 in First Regional Poll
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team received a No. 10 ranking in the first regional poll released by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Northwest, a member of the South Central region, has posted a 9-6 record versus Division II opponents and a 6-5 record within the region through Jan. 27.
Northwest is one of five Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) teams that were placed on the regional poll. Washburn, who Northwest knocked off on Jan. 12, grabbed a No. 2 ranking, the highest ranking of any MIAA team. Missouri Southern, Southwest Baptist and Emporia State were sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.
