MIAA Midway Point Brings Emporia to Maryville
MARYVILLE -- The Bearcats (11-6, 6-2 MIAA) matchup with No. 24 Emporia State (12-5, 5-3 MIAA) and marks the halfway point of the MIAA conference season. Northwest is tied with Washburn for the MIAA lead with three team's one game behind at 5-3.
The Bearcats will have to contain the MIAA fifth all-time leading scorer Michell Stueve along with four other players that average double-digits. The Hornets are coming off an 84-65 drubbing of Missouri Western and have averaged 83.6 points per game the past five contests.
The Bearcats showed their depth against Central Missouri with six players tabbing at least 10 points, despite not having the team's best bench scorer Andrea Dill. The Bearcats have dropped six straight versus the Lady Hornets, but are 6-2 at home this season and are have shot 46.4 percent the past four games.
