Bearcats Look for Five Straight Against Southern

MARYVILLE -- The Bearcats host Missouri Southern Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. Northwest has won four in-a-row after knocking off No. 4 Washburn Saturday, Jan. 12, 50-45.

The Bearcats took down the Lions in all three meetings a year ago and are currently on a four-game winning streak against Southern. The Lions started the season with a nine-game winning streak, but have lost three of their last four games. Six players have hit at least 10 from beyond the arc, led by Trice Bonner's 45.5 percent. Fatai Hala'Api'Api leads the team in scoring averaging 12.7 points per game and Tynesha Pierce cleans the glass with 6.1 boards per game.

Northwest has won four of the last five meetings and five straight in Maryville. The Bearcats are all alone atop the MIAA standings with Southwest Baptist, Washburn and Truman tied for second.
