Vandevender Signs NLI for the 2007-08 Women's Basketball Team
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Amber Vandevender signed a national letter of intent today to play for the Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team in the 2007-08 season. Vandevender is a 5-8 guard and from North Central Missouri College. She will enter Northwest as a junior after playing two seasons at North Central.
At North Central, Amber ranks in the all-time top-ten for points, rebounds, assists and steals. She sits third all-time with 847 points in just two seasons. North Central had a 53-14 overall record in her two seasons and a 2007 NJCAA Region 16 Championship.
Amber was a first-team All-Region selection and was a member of the NCMC Mark Whiteaker Memorial Classic All-Classic Team in both 2006 and 2007.
Head Coach Gene Steinmeyer added, "Amber is a very versatile player and a great shooter. She really fits our style of play."
