Forced Turnovers Give the Bearcats a 4-0 Start

| | BELLINGHAM, Wash. - ( stats ) The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team forced 30 turnovers in an 80-58 win over the Saint Martins Saints in the opening game of the Western Washington Lynda Goodrich Classic. A 17-2 run in the second half aided by three 3-points, two from junior forward Lauren Williams and one from junior guard Kelli Nelson, blew open a 12-point half time lead. The Saints came within eight points, 38-30, early in the second half before the Bearcats run put them away. Nelson and Williams led five Bearcats in double figure with 14 points as every Bearcat player scored in the game for the second time this season. Williams nabbed her second double-double of the season as she grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with her 14 points. Sophomore Jessica Burton and Nelson caused numerous turnovers as they ending with six and five steals apiece. The Bearcats recorded a season high 18 steals as a team. Northwest is now 4-0 and will play #16 Western Washington tomorrow at 5 p.m. CST in Bellingham, Wash. | |
