Northwest Women's Basketball Works Community Service
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team went into the community to lend a helping hand. The Bearcats went to the Nodaway Nursing Home to visit with the residents and handed out candy on the night of the Maryville businesses gave candy to the trick or treaters.
The team met with the residents at the nursing home and gave them personal profiles, schedules and posters. All 17 members of the Bearcat basketball team took part in the nursing home experience on Oct. 24 and talked with the residents until it was time for their dinner.
The second community project was on Oct. 27 in downtown Maryville during the trick or treat night. The women's basketball players did their best dressed in costumes, as they ranged from a banana to a Holstein cow. They gave candy to the kids, as the event was sponsored by the Maryville downtown businesses.
