Friederich Surpasses 1,000 Career Points Mark
MARYVILLE, Mo. -Northwest Missouri State women's basketball player, Laura Friederich, surpassed 1,000 career points recently in her third year as a Bearcat. Her 15-point drive versus No.3 Washburn on Feb. 16 pushed her over the grand mark. The Overland Park native is a junior and has totals of 1,017 points, 366 field goals, 129 3-pt. field goals and 156 free throws with at least three games left in the 2004-05 season.
Friederich is only the 19th Bearcat in Northwest women's basketball archived history to reach 1,000 points. She is 345 points away from joining Northwest's top 10 scorers of all time. Her 11 free throws versus Central Missouri on Feb. 2 tied her at fourth place for free throws made in a single game.
Laura Friederich has led Northwest in scoring in 13 games this season. She has recorded three double-doubles and scored 20+ points in six games in 2004-05.
Northwest stands at 12-15 overall with two regular season games left. The Bearcats will play in the MIAA Tournament Mar. 3-6.
