Weber Signs With Bearcat Women

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State University head women's basketball coach Gene Steinmeyer has announced the signing of Katie Weber (Liberty, Mo.) to a national letter-of-intent.

Weber, a 5-foot 8-inch guard, averaged 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last season at Liberty High School. She has been a first-team all-conference performer in each of the last two seasons. Weber is a defensive stalwart, leading Liberty in steals for each of the past three seasons. As a senior, Weber was named to the all-tournament teams at the Jefferson City Holiday Tournament and at North Kansas City's tournament.

"Two things really caught our eye about Katie," Steinmeyer said. "We really like her aggressive style of play. Plus, she made a major impact in a really good program in the Kansas City metro area."

Weber will be a freshman at Northwest next fall.
