Homewood Signs With Bearcat Women

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State University head women's basketball coach Gene Steinmeyer has announced the signing of Kelsey Homewood (Iowa City, Iowa) to a national letter-of-intent.

Homewood, a 5-foot 6-inch point guard, is Regina High School's all-time leader in points, assists and steals. She ranks ninth all-time in the State of Iowa in assists and 12th in steals. Last season, Homewood earned First-Team All-State honors from the Iowa Newspaper Association, the Des Moines Register and the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Homewood was also a three-time all-district, all-conference and all-area player. She was a member of the Class 2A Gatorade Select team and was chosen to play in the Goalsetter All-Star game in June.

"Kelsey has played in one of the best programs in the State of Iowa," Steinmeyer said. "She has won just about every award you can win in Iowa. Kelsey is an unusual point guard, because she distributes the ball very well, but she can also score when she has to. She's a very versatile player."

Homewood will be a freshman at Northwest this fall.
