Volleyball Falls to Missouri Western in MIAA OpenerBox Score | Photo Album
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State volleyball team fell to Missouri Western, 3-1, on Tuesday evening at Bearcat Arena. The win moves Missouri Western to 3-6 on the season and 1-0 in MIAA play. The Bearcats fall to 4-5 and are now 0-1 in the conference.
After battling through tough losses in the first two sets, Northwest bounced back to win a convincing third set, hitting .367 in the process. But the Griffons pulled away in the fourth to win the match.
Junior Brooke Bartosh recorded a game high 16 kills and hit .343 on the evening. Classmate Abby Graves had 14 kills and five digs. Senior setter Bridget Hanafin added 48 assists, nine digs, and five kills. Defensively, junior Bailey Vance had 14 digs. Freshman Jackie Becker had a game-high six blocks followed by Bartosh’s four.
The Bearcats continue MIAA play this weekend with road games at Lindenwood on Friday followed by a trip to Missouri Southern on Saturday.
