WINONA, Minn. – The Northwest Missouri State volleyball team captured two victories on Saturday afternoon on the last day of the Winona State Tournament at McCown Gymnasium. The Bearcats swept both St. Joseph’s College and Upper Iowa, 3-0.

"I think we played a lot more poised and confident today," said head coach Amy Woerth. "We were much more in control of the situations today and we came out much more focused. After Friday, we went back to the goals we set for the season and really focused on some of the smaller goals and I think it showed today. We wanted to be more consistent, win three rallies at a time and force them into situations when we were serving."

St. Joseph’s never made it past the 17 point barrier as Northwest cruised to a 3-0 victory in the first match of the day. Freshman Miranda Foster paced the Bearcats with a game-high 13 kills. Senior setter Bridget Hanafin recorded 31 assists and junior Bailey Vance had a game-best 19 digs. Sophomore Shelby Duren had four service aces and 13 digs. Junior Kirsten Hudgens had three service aces and senior Mackie Keller recorded three blocks.
