Bearcats lose to Central Oklahoma at home
MARYVILLE, MO – The Northwest Missouri State volleyball team struggled Friday in a 3-0 loss to the University of Central Oklahoma.
Central Oklahoma (8-11, 3-5) came back from a six point deficit in the first set, and carried the momentum from there to a 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 road victory.
Northwest (11-10, 5-3) totaled 24 errors in the game, and had costly errors at the end of the second and third sets.
The Central Oklahoma offense capitalized on the errors committed by the Bearcats. Central Oklahoma had three players with double digit kills.
Barbara Jackson and Morgan Roy each had 11 kills in the win, and Juliette Smith had 10 kills on 15 attacks.
The Bearcat defense was led by Tori Beckman, who had 26 assists. Beckman has tallied 404 digs this season.
Brook Bartosh led the Bearcat offense with 14 kills on 29 attacks. Bartosh has a total 231 kills for the season.
The Bearcats play in Maryville, Sunday, against Pittsburg State (10-9, 1-6). The first serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
